Cass Alexander Therapy

Kia ora. I am a curious and flexible trauma-informed therapist who helps people explore past issues and develop coping strategies safely and confidentially. I am trained in person-centred therapy, which means working at your pace and acknowledging your own ability, culture and experiences to make change. I work in person in Whanganui NZ and provide secure online counselling from anywhere in New Zealand.

I use a range of tools such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, narrative and psychodynamic therapy, boundaries work and Te Whare Tapa Wha. You don’t have to know what any of these mean, they are just ways to help you through the issues in your life. I studied a Bacholer of Applied Counselling at Manukau Institute of Technology. I am a provisional member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and work to their Code of Ethics.

Costs

In-person counselling in Whanganui and online video counselling sessions anywhere in New Zealand are $100 per hour. I use Microsoft Teams for secure online counselling.

If you are on a disability allowance, Work and Income may be able to pay for counselling.
